Books for kids

The Children’s Bookstore is pleased to present our first collection of wonderful books for kids. Far too many children’s books are simply designed to sell fast and make a profit. Every book we offer was written to create an educational, emotional and spiritual profit for the young reader and the parent who shares the joy of books with their child. We are slow to expand our list of titles, adding books at the rate of just four per year making sure that every book offered is the brightest star in its part of the literary sky.

Good books for kids

When looking for good books for kids it is easy to latch onto the latest fad. Yes, Captain Underpants is a good laugh, but does it teach anything lasting? Too often books rely on massive publicity of a brand to make a quick sale. Yes, we all love The Little Mermaid. But the original tale written by Hans Christian Anderson is far removed from today’s latest Disney chapter. The books you will find here are originals in thought and action. All content is framed around powerful themes important for the developing child. Drawings are created by hand not a computer so as to reveal the inner heart of all the characters depicted.

Best Books for kids

These are the best books for kids to come along in the last 50 years. They stand beside all of your childhood favorites as equals in literary and artistic value. We measure our books against the greatest children’s stories every written and drawn. If you loved “Harold and the Purple Crayon” or “Charlotte’s Web” as a young child then enjoyed reading books such as “Misty of Chincoteague” or “The Secret Garden” when older, and graduated to young adult reading such as the books of Katherine Paterson and J. R. Tolkien you will appreciate the select titles we offer.

Online books for kids

We all appreciate the convenience of online books for kids. One simply finds a site and clicks on the link so as to make available a completely fresh and free book or short story. But is reading a book online the same experience as having that book in your hand and slowly turning each page with your child in anticipation of the next paragraph or drawing? Not hardly, books are like candles. They exhibit a unique charm that cannot be recreated with a fluorescent bulb. E-Books are fine for study and research, but sharing tender moments with your child requires a hands-on experience only provided by a real paper and pictures book.

Books for kids online

When searching for books for kids online where should one begin. You could visit a huge bookseller website such as Barnes and Noble, but are the books they recommend and present anything more than a listing of what is currently popular? Is the most popular book the best at entertaining and teaching your child? There are simply too many qualifiers in your book choice to let yourself be swayed and led by false reviews and best seller lists. The finest children’s books are rare treasures that must be discovered and share by parents with a similar value system as your own. All of the books we offer have been previewed and chosen by a panel of concerned parents such as yourself.

Reading books for kids

The superb reading books for kids available at The Children’s Bookstore are chosen based on important factors like non-violence and spiritual faith. This is not to say that the stories we sell are strictly “Christian Books.” These books are universal in their approach to religion and God. In order for a book to be listed on this site it must meet criteria based on literary and artistic merit. It must also provide the reader with a strong positive theme. Sometimes that theme is simply a comical study of wildlife in an actual setting such as the use of the Saint Marks Wildlife Refuge in “Alligator’s Can’t Stand Butterflies.” Often the message put forth is one of having faith in God’s greater plan such as is shown in “The Midget Green Swamp Moose.” In our latest book, “Bartram and the Blue Morning Glory” the reader discovers that miracles are everywhere.
